Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt Joyce Kaye Green gained her Heavenly wings on Monday, October 6, 2014 at the age of 63 years. She was born June 28, 1951 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Frank Conic and Lequilla (Henry) Overton.
During her childhood, Joyce and her family moved to Chicago, Illinois where she graduated from John Marshall High School. She later relocated to Saginaw, Michigan. While expanding her family, Joyce earned an Associates Degree in Accounting. She became well known for being the kind receptionist at Veras Unique Hair Salon and Reflections of U Hair Salon. Joyce went on to enhance her skills and gained employment with the Saginaw Transit Authority Regional Services. She was a member of Christ Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert Davis Jr. where she loved to sing and greet members. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling with the Travel Destination Club to various places across the states and islands. Joyce was a very loving and caring person to everyone she met. Even in sickness she gave herself unselfishly beyond measure to those in need. Her wonderful presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to celebrate her legacy three daughters, Lawanda R. Hunter of Kansas City, Missouri, Lequilla K. Green and LaShonda D. Green, both of Saginaw, Michigan; three sons, Johnnie L. Green of Columbus, Ohio, Jermaine K. (Rica) Green of Western, Ohio and Joseph F. Green of Saginaw, Michigan; seventeen grandchildren, Seantia Banks, Tierra Stewart, Taven, Jermaine Jr., Jamilah, Jahmeer and Samiyah Green, Tutan Lyles, Quevonia Moncrief, Sean Smith, Angienelle, Joy, Joseph Jr., Jacob, Ali, Camrin and Montrael Green; one great-grandchild, SeVon Greaves; six sisters and two brothers, Rosie (Donald) Graves, Wanda (Jerry) Worthy, Frank (Georgia) Conic, Gayle Conic, Carol Jean Overton, Onisha (Allen) Chandler, Thomas (Vickie) Overton and Lesa Overton-Jordan; a multitude of nieces and nephews including a special niece, Sparkle Whitehead; many other relatives and friends including special friend, Diane Dunscomb.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Conic and Lequilla Overton, her stepfather, Henry Overton and two brothers, Edward Coakes and Joe Henry Conic.
