Juanita Finch

September 19, 1934 — February 1, 2019

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” On February 1, 2019, Juanita Bentley Finch returned home to her heavenly Father and found sweet rest.

Juanita, known to family and friends as “Nita”, was born September 19, 1934 in Sandersville, Georgia to the late William and Mary Bentley. She accepted Christ at an early age and throughout her life deepened her love and commitment to God.

Nita came to Michigan in 1959. She was united in holy matrimony to Robert Lee Finch, Sr. and to this union four children were born. She was a member of World Outreach Campus under the leadership of Elder Hurley Coleman, Jr. She was employed at Saginaw County Hospital, working private duty as a CNA. Nita enjoyed taking care of elderly people and children. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed watching wrestling, soap operas and western movies.

More than anything, Nita enjoyed being around her family. Even while she was sick, she would visit her cousin C.W. That’s the type of person she was. She demonstrated her love in word and deed. A Proverbs 31 woman is who she was and how she will be remembered.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Finch, Sr.; parents, William and Mary Bizzle Bentley; son, George Edward Finch; sister, Annie Mae Thomas; brothers, Walter, Earlie and Ephraim Bentley.

She leaves to cherish her memory children, Robert Lee Finch, Jr., Timothy Gordon Finch, Deborah Ann Finch; grandchildren, Tarishyannia, Billy, Jasmine, Beverly, Tamario, Devon, Christopher, Gabby; great-grandchildren, Alexa and Aiden; sisters, Bernice Walker, Mary Bessie Little, Geneva (Julius) Jones, Helen (Harry) Ashley; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special friends Roy Robinson, Steven Francis and Ryan Gould.

The family would like to express special thanks to Masonic Pathways of Alma, Michigan, Covenant Healthcare-Cooper, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
