Juanita Jackson

Juanita (Washington) McClain Jackson made her transition on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born August 1, 1931 in Greenville, Mississippi to Pearl (Solomon) Collier and Joseph Washington.
Juanita attended Greenville Public Schools. She accepted Christ at an early age. In 1955 she relocated to Detroit, Michigan to work as a waitress at a friends family diner. Juanita later moved to Saginaw, Michigan where she joined Tabernacle Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend R. B. Austin. There she served on the Usher Board for 23 years. Juanita was employed at St. Marys Hospital for 13 years as the Head Cook. She later accepted a job at General Motors and was a member of UAW Local 467. In 1973, Juanita met the love of her life, Napolean (Action) Jackson. They were wedded in 1980 in Saginaw, Michigan. To this union two children were born. Raising her children and grand-children became her priority. Juanita enjoyed going to the racetrack and the casino for fun. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved and adored her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Drothy Lee Jackson, Michael McClain, and DeAndre and Nathaniel Spears, who she raised as her own, all of Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Nichole McClain, Kentucky, Myeishia Jackson; a special granddaughter who she raised, Charmaine (Darren) Jackson-Wesley; great-grandchildren, Damondrate Williams, Jr., Jmeil Clark, Jr., Demus Stewart, Jr., DTayvion Stewart, Darreonna Wesley, Trevionna Nickleberry-McClain, Antionette Curry, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Kalia McClain, Amya McClain of Kentucky, and great-great grandchild, Amir Jmeil Jumper; niece, Margie Fay Jackson; great-niece, Tenisha Jackson; nephews, Kenny Ray (Debby) Madison, Cecile (Linda) Jackson, and Leslie (Audre) Jackson; god-children, Sandy, Sandra, Tiffany Donald-Collier, and Melissa Coombs; many other relatives and friends including special friends, her and Tay-Tays dog (Ms. Moe), Allean and Nathaniel Cole, Demus Stewart Sr., Doris West, Sadie, and Suzanne Kemp.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl (Solomon) Collier and Joseph Washington; her husband, Napolean Jackson; her son and grandson, Torrey Jackson; and a host of other relatives.
