Judith Cooper (Lansing)

May 18, 1947 — February 17, 2019

Ms. Judith (Judie) Ann Cooper went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at the age of 71. She was born May 18, 1947 to Florine Elizabeth Roper in Flint, Michigan.

Judie attended Sexton High School and later graduated from Highland Park Public Schools.
She worked for several hospitals in the Detroit, Hamtramck and Lansing areas as a Nurse’s Assistant. After returning to Lansing, she then worked for McLaren Hospital as a Unit Coordinator, where she retired after 23 years. Judie loved her co-workers as well as all the patients.

Judie accepted Christ early at West Lansing Church of God and later became a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the babies. She loved her jewelry and collecting purses, customizing her vehicles, going on vacations and shopping. However, the majority of her time was spent raising her son, Timothy (TJ) and doting over her grands, great grands, nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. You could always catch her listening to oldies but goodies and cheering on her favorite school, The University of Michigan.

She leaves to treasure her memory, her mother and best friend, Florine E. Roper; daughter, April Roper-Ford (Vernon); son, Timothy James Cooper; siblings, Albert (Marie) Roper, Frederick Roper; brother-in-law, Danny Green; grandchildren, Paris Roper, Daja Ford and Vabian Ford; great-grandchildren, Zariyah (who had a very special bond), X'Zavion, Nirvanah; uncle, Alpheus (Erma) Cooper; close niece, Melissa A. Green and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, including her dearest friend, Deb Douglas.

She was proceeded in death by her grandmother, Allie Mae Cooper; siblings, Primrose A. Green, and Steven D. Roper; nephew, Joseph Roper and great niece, Annalyssia Green.

Judith will be dearly missed by all and forever be in our hearts.
