Julian Ashton Mallett (Lansing)

Julian Ashton Mallett was born May 7, 1990 in Lansing Michigan, transitioned into his new life on December 22, 2014. Julian attended Cavanaugh Elementary and Dwight Rich middle schools. Julian graduated from Holt High School in 2008, and decided to pursue his lifelong dream in music media and was given that opportunity with radio station Power 96.5 after graduation. Julian was known throughout Lansing, Jackson, Grand Rapids, Detroit, and Tampa, Florida as DJ Young Ju, and had a production label titled Music by Ju.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his mother Julia (Larry) Dawson Sr, Father Kurt (Kim) Mallett. Siblings Kirkland, Debronjia, Malik, Larissa, and Andrew. Stepsiblings, Lorenzo, Jackie, Tasha, Larry, Lawrence, and Larren. Loving and very special grandmothers (Nana) Arlene Merrill and Jeanie Mallett, special Aunties Jackie Merrill and Pashia Mallett and one Uncle Eric Mallett. Julian was also loved and supported by a host of relatives, big brothers, mentors, teachers, and several childhood friends.
A celebration of life service for Julian will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church 5200 Pleasant Grove Road, Lansing, MI at 12:00 p.m. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services at the church.
