Mrs. Kathy Lynn Young-Ford, age 61 years, passed away peacefully and in the comfort of her family on November 3, 2023. She was born April 29, 1962, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Allen and Elizabeth Young.
A beloved mother, Kathy enjoyed spending time with her husband of 16 years, Mr. Johnny Ray Ford who preceded her in death. As lovers of music, they cherished their many evenings at weekly karaoke nights. Kathy also enjoyed dancing, cooking her favorite dishes for her family, watching the Food Network, spending time with her grandchildren, doing yard work and of course, The Young and the Restless. She attended Saginaw High School.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Kathy Young-Jones (Janeal), Latoya Young, and Jenna Young of Saginaw, Michigan, four sons, Curtis Young of New York City, New York, Norman Young (Chariclea), Anthony Young of Detroit, Michigan and Larry Goodman (Pearria) of Saginaw, Michigan. From her marriage she leaves behind three stepdaughters, Trina Brown of Little Rock, Arkansas, and LaShonda Carpenter, Amber Rai Ford of Saginaw, Michigan. She also leaves behind 24 grandchildren, Bre’Agia, Audonis, NaVariy, NaKariy, Namyia, Miracle, Makayla, Jordan, JayKing, Janeya, Ashanti, Nalayia, Jrheam, Knowledge, Trinity, Aiden, Royalty, Denver, T’Andre, Ta’Shayla, Treyon, De’Marion, Key’Andre, and Myla; also to cherish her precious memories are her siblings Allen Young, Jr. (Lovie) of Jackson, Mississippi, Bridget Tate (Anthony) of Orlando, Florida, Walter Young (Shalonda) of Kenosha, Wisconsin, William Young of Detroit, Michigan, Alfred “Jamie” Young (Geneva) of Saginaw, Michigan, and aunt, Barbara Burton (John). She was loved by her countless Tinsley cousins and special friends and family throughout life, Ms. Helen, Annie Pearl Farrow, Curtis Farrow, Greta Watley, Ruben Whitson and Frank Whitson.
Kathy Young-Ford was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Elizabeth Young; beloved husband, Johnny Ray Ford; her brother, Gregory Young; sister, Rosemary Young-Thomas; and grandchildren, twins Ne’Vaeh and Che’Vaeh Young, and Johnny “Baby J” Frazier.
