Katrina Smith (Lansing)

Ms. Katrina Smith passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021, at her residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 51 years. She was born April 22, 1970, in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Robert Lee Smith and Mary Grace Wade.

Katrina was a lifelong resident of Lansing where she graduated from Lansing J. W. Sexton High School. She attended Craig’s College of Beauty. Katrina was employed at the Victor Center in janitorial services. She was a member of Mount Hope Church. Katrina enjoyed family and friends. She collected perfumes and made home movies. Katrina was a very loving and inspirational person. She had a big heart. All her co-workers adored her. Katrina was a hard worker and set a good example for others. She loved her family and was always available to help do whatever was needed of her.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory five brothers, Derick Smith, Larry James Wade, Mark Wade, William Tyler Wade, Jr., and Barry Williams; five nieces, Cherie Dumas, Nikeesha Salazar, Desiree Salazar, Karena Wade, and Sonya Wade; five nephews, Lowell Wade Jr., Melvin Wade, Jordan Wade, William Wade III, and James Wade; aunts and uncles, Florence Willie Mae Simpson, Lera Lee Holman, Frances Shankle, Jimmie St. Val, Betty Sue Thompson, Lois Faye (Bill) Beavers, Fred Cunningham, and Roy Cunningham; many cousins including special cousins, Tammy Mickens Singleton and David Thomas, other relatives, and friends including special friends, Sylvia and Westley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, William Tyler Wade; sisters, Veronica Wade (who died hours before her on the same day), Angela Catrice Smith and Janice Smith; brothers, Lowell Wade, Jesse Wade, Maurice Williams, and Mark Williams; grandparents, Aaron & Annie Thompson; great-grandparents, Thaddeus & Florence Crawford; five aunts, Joyce Thompson, Lilly Mae Hollaway, Mary Elizabeth Jones, JoAnn Mickens, and Ronna Kaye Douglas; uncle, James Thompson.
