Mrs. Kattie Lee Burnside-Carter was escorted by Heavens angels to her place in the Kingdom on Thursday, October 30, 2014. She was born December 27, 1930 in Louisville, Mississippi to Calvin and Millie Carter.
Kattie accepted Christ at an early age when she became a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville, Mississippi. She relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in 1970. Kattie loved watching western movies, playing cards, fishing, cooking and gardening. Her presence will be truly missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Hannah Carter, Bonnie Carter and Arrie (Samuel) Lawson; two sons, Larry Carter and Michael (Laura) Carter; grandchildren, Natasha (Geron) Johnson, Barbara Logan, Annie (James) Jones, Pamela Carter, Audra (Romar) Johnson, Veronica (Greg) Coleman, Mary Ingram, Latonya Jones, Sandra Lawson, Michelle (Kareem) Smartt, Marcel Jones and Samuel Lawson Jr.; twenty-five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Sadie Carter; one sister-in-law, Ida Ruth Ball; many other relatives and friends including her special cousin, Mary Dean Coleman.
Kattie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Burnside, parents, Calvin and Millie Carter, children, Bonnie Logan, Bobbie Wayne Carter and Bobbie Gene Carter, brothers, James, Wendel and Quinton Carter, sisters, Mary Jane Carter and Iris Brown, sister-in-law, Hargie Ruth Culberson.
