Kay Lesley Williams, our beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Great-Aunt, went home to
be with the Lord on Wednesday June 3,2020 at Hurley Medical Center. Age 54 years.
Kay was born September 3,1965 to Daisy Mae Gatewood and Freddie B. Williams Sr. in
Texarkana,Texas.
Kay resided in Flint, Michigan. Her life journey began after she graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1983. She continued her higher education at Saginaw Valley State University, obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Kay dedicated 26 years of her life to Michigan Department of Corrections starting as a Correctional Officer in 1994 and finishing as a Hobby Craft Director and overseer of the prison garden.
Kay was a loyal, honest, reliable, trustworthy woman. She was very loving, uplifting, nurturing, outgoing, giving, kindhearted and had a great sense of humor. Kay enjoyed going to the movies, eating out, taking vacations and spending time with the ones she truly loved. Her presence made a difference to everyone she came in contact with and she will truly be missed. We will forever hold Kay in our hearts.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy Mae Gatewood and Freddie B. Williams Sr.; grandparents, Fred and Lillian Williams, Auerlla Gatewood; uncles, Cleavin (Herise) Williams, Clarence Williams; aunts, Archielean Williams, Dorothy Gatewood; stepsister, Theresa L. Jones; close friend, Blondean Ayers.
She leaves to cherish her memory stepmother, Shirley Williams, Saginaw, Michigan; siblings, Sharon Williams, Atlanta, Georgia, Bridget Reynolds, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Lillian Williams, Myra (Allan) Colley, Freddie Jr. (Kim)Williams, Saginaw, Michigan, Marcus (Linda) Holmes, Victorville, California; special nephew, David Williams, Flint, Michigan; aunts
and uncles, Odell Abraham, Louis E.Williams, Walter Williams, Perry (Sherrie) Williams,
Mary (Ovid) Blackwell, Carol R. Cummings, Emma Jean Darden, all from Texarkana, Arkansas, Betty Jean (Lawrence) Ross, North Ridge, California, Eldora Gatewood, Texarkana,Texas; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including three of her closest friends from Flint, Michigan, Kelvin Smith, Connie Derakhshandeh, Harland Jackson, and Maxine Gladney, Saginaw, Michigan.
