Keith Bernard Hughes

Keith Bernard Hughes was born February 4, 1958 in Saginaw, Michigan to the union of Donald Eugene and Leola Hughes. He departed this life on Friday, February 8, 2019. Age 61 years.

Keith was a graduate of Saginaw High School, “Class of 1976.” After graduation, he went to serve his country proudly by enlisting in the United States Army. After years of faithful service, Keith returned home to Saginaw. He joined Seventh Day Adventist Church on Center Road and was a dedicated member.

Keith’s favorite hobbies were painting, cooking, fishing, grilling and listening to loud music. He loved his family and he especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His strong presence will be missed, and his memory will be forever cherished.

Keith was preceded in death by his father, Donald Hughes; stepfather, Zebedee Griffin; brother, Derrick Hughes; grandparents, Lee and Betsy Hughes, Sylvester and Florence McKinley.

He leaves to celebrate his life his mother, Leola Hughes; daughter, Takelia Hughes; sons, Keino Hughes, Keith Hayes, Jr., Antwaune (Gena) Hayes, Neil Hayes; grandchildren, Keith III, Ke’Avena, Ke’Asia, Keinosha, Jamie’Anna, Antoya, Antwanette, Antwaune, Cameron, Twaunari, JayQuan, Antrinqua, Amarion; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Elnora (C.J.) Smith, Donna Hughes, Debra Brown, Shelia Austin; brother, Arteria Hughes; aunt, Florence Jones; special cousins, Mark Lee, Herman Blackmon, James “Baby James” Stevenson; mother of his children, Christine Hayes; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends Clinton “Pop” Miller, Robert "Star" Davis and Gary "Bunb" Manuel.
