Kenneth Gamble

April 24, 1941 — November 2, 2019

Mr. Kenneth L. Gamble was born April 24, 1941 in Marshall, Missouri. He was the fourth child of Reverend Ira Sr. and Elizabeth Gamble. He passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Masonic Pathways in Alma, Michigan at the blessed age of 78 years.

Kenneth was educated in the public schools of Missouri, Ohio and Pennsylvania. He then attend Morgan State College and later graduated from Youngstown State University, where he was elected to the 1971-1972 Who’s Who among students in American Universities and Colleges. He also graduated with a Master’s Degree from the University of Akron. In addition, he was a United States Air Force Veteran.

At the time of his death, Kenneth was retired from the City of Saginaw, where he served in many leadership positions during his career. Not only was he a leader in his community but he was also a family man. Our husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend has gone from labor to reward and we celebrate his life and legacy.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Ira Sr. and Elizabeth Gamble; sisters, Laura Tate, Gratcia Drew; brothers, Julius Gamble and Ira Gamble Jr.

Kenneth married Sheila M. Greene on April 19, 1969 and the two were married for fifty years. She survives him along with his sons, Jerry Swain, Augusta, Georgia, Andrew Swain, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; daughter, Kendra Gamble, San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Alicia (Joshua) Southern, Ari Gamble; great-grandchildren, Aidan Gamble, Joshua Southern Jr.; special niece, Lisa Drew, White Plains, Maryland; many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
