"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." – 2 Timothy 4:7
On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, Kenneth Carl Jackson went to be with the Lord at McLaren Greater Lansing hospital in Lansing, Michigan. He was born on Friday, August 14, 1959, in Covington, Tennessee, to the late Daisy Sherrill and Eddie Lewis Jackson. Kenneth received his education in Tipton County, Tennessee public schools and accepted Christ at an early age at St. Luke Baptist Church.
In his young adulthood, Kenneth relocated to Lansing, Michigan, where he pursued his passion for cooking, working as a skilled culinary chef for many years. His love for cooking brought joy to those around him, as he shared his talents and delicious creations with friends, family, and the community.
Kenneth was known for his warm heart and infectious laughter. He had a passion for life and a deep love for his family. His kind spirit, strong work ethic, and unwavering faith were hallmarks of his character. Kenneth’s memory will continue to live on through the lives he touched and the love he spread. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of love, faith, and family will remain in our hearts forever.
He will be deeply missed by his three children, Arville Jackson and Ashley Giles of Lansing, Michigan, and Myra (Chelsa) Jackson of Toledo, Ohio. Kenneth will also be remembered by his grandchildren, Danielle Woodson, Daylin Jackson of Toledo, Ohio, Amara Cannon, Ty’Easha Hopper, Tyrone Hooper, and Fedarain Bills of Lansing, Michigan, as well as his great-grandchildren: Ay’Den Ashe and Mi’Layna Hooper of Lansing, Michigan. Kenneth is survived by his siblings, Eddie (Barbara) Jackson, Willie Carson, Leslie (Linda) Jackson, James (Michelle) Jackson, all of Lansing, Michigan; sister, Jeanette Morrison of Covington, Tennessee, and sister-in-law, Shirley Jackson of Mumford, Tennessee. He leaves behind a special niece, Kariel Jackson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Kenneth is now reunited in heaven with his parents, Eddie Lewis and Daisy Sherrill Jackson; brothers, Robert Jackson, Charles Jackson, and Wilbert Jackson; sister, Mary Kay Dukes; and sisters-in-law, Alice Jackson and Marsha Jackson.
Kenneth will be fondly and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. While we mourn his passing, we take comfort knowing he is celebrating in heaven, surrounded by those who went before him.
