Mr. Kenneth Oniel Howard passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016 at Luther Manor Nursing Home. Age 56 years. He was born May 11, 1959 in Saginaw, Michigan to Rev. Nathaniel and Wealthy E. Howard.
Kenneth O. Howard was born and raised in Buena Vista Township of Saginaw. He was a 1977 graduate of Buena Vista High School. Ken was a member of Holy Mission Ministries Church of God in Christ from its beginning. He was one-fourth of the famous singing group, The Howard Boys!! They sang their only hit song, This Is the Church of God in Christ, led by, yes, Mark!! Kenneth loved, loved, loved playing basketball with his infamously talented and awesome brothers and all those other dudes in the neighborhood. These were the Oglesbys, the Brodnexs, the Gonzalezs, the Haynes, classmates, and anybody coming to our hood to shoot hoops. Kenneth worked for a short period of time at General Motors. He then worked at various machines shops as a machinist. He will be missed by all those who loved and adored him.
Kenneth leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Kenesha Howard of Texas; one goddaughter, Ebony Davis; two grandchildren, Danielle and Autavion Howard; one great grandchild, Arielle Monroe; his mother, Wealthy E. Howard five brothers, Melvin (Eloise) Howard, Elder David A. (Diane) Howard, Mark D. Howard, Stanley L. Howard, and John Howard; three aunts. Marilyn Jean Cheatham, Dorothy Camese, and Glenda Shields; two uncles, Cornell Howard and Mitchell Shields; and many nieces, nephews , cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friend, Lisa Davis.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Nathaniel Howard, Jr,; siblings, Nathaniel Howard III, Elizabeth Davis, Jeanette Howard and Roger Howard.
The family would like to express special thanks to all of the doctors and nurses who took part in Kens care, and especially Luther Manor and the Hospice caregivers. Thank you!!!
