Kenneth Ray Laury

January 26, 1954 — July 15, 2021

Mr. Kenneth Ray Laury passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021, in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 67 years. He was born on January 26, 1954, in Saginaw, Michigan to Nathan Lee and Jimmie Lee Laury.

Mr. Laury was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan, and was a graduate of Saginaw High School, Class of 1972. Following graduation, Kenneth enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving 1974 – 1976, and receiving an Honorable Discharge upon completion of his military service. He had stories to tell. Kenneth was very loyal to his family; he loved his brothers and sisters, but there was no greater love than the love he had for his mother. He helped to raise his nieces and nephews and remained active in their lives. Kenneth’s hobbies and work included taking long walks, working on cars and lawn mowers, and listening to music while enjoying his coffee. In 1978 – 1984 Kenneth was untied in marriage with Hattie Hudnell. They remained good friends after parting. He later married Linda Galvin who predeceased him. Kenneth planted a tree in front of their home in memory of Linda. It is beautifully formed. He will be missed by family and friends who loved him dearly.

He leaves to cherish loving memories one son, Korry Berry; one grandson, Deleon West; two sisters, Addie Mae Laury and Jacqueline (Lorenzo) Jacocks of Saginaw, Michigan; stepsisters, Norma McLaurin and Janice Staples; three brothers, Charles, Wardell and Nathan Laury, all of Saginaw, Michigan; stepbrothers, Maurice and Malcolm Staples of Virginia Beach, Virginia; many nieces, nephews and cousins; two sisters-in-law, Dora Tyson and Dawn Elder; many other relatives including great-nieces and nephews, and special friends, Vernita Hendrix and Alvin Dixon, Jr.

Mr. Laury was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Nathan, George, Walter, and Matthew Laury; three sisters, Grace, Dorothy, and Earnestine; two nieces, Kizzy and Tanika Laury, one nephew, Jimmie Black.

The family would like to express special thanks to Teleo (Natasha) Laury, Lashonta "Dee" Laury, Pastor Angela Curry-Parkes, Mary McDonald, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
