Kenya "Ken" Demon Sanders

September 6, 1974 — July 13, 2017

On July 13, 2017 God called his child on to Glory. Kenya took on his wings and flew home to be with God. Ken was born on September 6, 1974 to Yvonne Sanders and Lavalle Williams, Sr.

Ken attended Saginaw Public Schools, and later, what we now know as his greatest accomplishment, went on to receive his barbering license. Ken proudly graduated at the top of his class from the Flint Institute of Barbering. He enjoyed cutting hair, cooking, and cracking jokes. Ken learned early that talent and charisma goes hand-in-hand, so he hustled to master his craft. He became the man we all know as "KenDaBarber." With "ALL EYES ON HIM," he made his presence known, and broke all rules that tried to hold him back. Ken had a way of making everyone he encountered feel special either physically, mentally and/or emotionally.

Ken leaves to cherish his memory four children, Adesha Burton, Ahniya and Amarion Arnett, and Bryce Morris; his parents, Yvonne Sanders (Randy "Pops" Thompson) and Lavalle and Deloris Williams, Sr.; his siblings, Alton "PunchO" and Kedrick "Boo" Sanders, Shyvonda "Tweet" (Corey) Pritchett, Quintana "Lucy" (Kendrell Sr.) George, Randy Brown, Tammiesha Franklin, Lavalle, Jr. and Lavellya Williams, Ardayrell and Teikia Dottery, Tiffany Dottery, Wendy Christian, and Virginia Dunn; grandmother, Pecola Thompson; his aunts and uncles Sharon Sanders, Vanda Strode, Beverly (Michael) Lynch, Frances (Grady) Shipman, Michelle and Karen Sanders, Bridgette Patrick, Patrice Williams, Shirley Greene, Charles Brown, Donald Sanders and Keith (Vickie) Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends; a special nephew, Kendrell "Boop" Stephens, Jr.; good friends, Brent Crittendon, Charles Parks, Ken Riley, Kervin Owens, Kevin Hayes, Jason Allen, special friend, Rachel Williams, very special friend, Felicia Jackson, and special cousin, Zackery Sanders; godparents, James (Sharon) Hullet and Marsha Lee; godbrothers, Edward Cotton, Jason and Justin Lee, Antwon and James Hullet, Jr.

Ken was predeceased by his daughter, Shanice “Two” Barkley; grandparents, James and Cleotha Sanders, Frank Sr.and Maggie Williams; uncles, Sylvester Brown and Frank Williams Jr.; nephew, Quin Galvin; special cousin, Rahsaan Williams; and special friend, Chris Allen.
