Mr. Kevin Powell Sr. (Big Baby) went to a new dimension on Friday, December 17, 2010. Age 46 years. He was born May 20, 1964 in Detroit Michigan to Cesar and Patsy Powell.
Kevin attended Detroit Public Schools. He later went on to become a Journeyman Plumber and was certified in drywall and painting in 1993. He was previously employed with the Saginaw Board of Education. Kevin accepted Christ at a young age. In July 1990, he rededicated his life and was baptized. In his spare time he loved fishing, reading and ministering the word of God. He was a former member of Freedom Full Gospel Baptist Church a place where he always called home under the leadership of Pastor Eddie L. Bragg. While under his leadership, Kevin formed, owned and operated Powells Plumbing and Maintenance Services, his motto was I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me - Philippians 4:13.
Kevin leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Kiana (Reggie) Stovall, Kenya and Kristen Powell; three sons, Idris Young, Kristopher and Keenan Powell; one grandson, DeJon Stovall; father, Cesar (Margaret) Powell; three brothers, Ronald, Scotty, Cesar Powell Jr.; four aunts, Lenora (James Sr.) Keeling, Clarice (James) Sanders, Shirley (William) Arthur, Christine Hines; two uncles, James and Tony Hines; Many other nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including a special cousin, Tan Moore, special friends, Marty Northern, Tina Jamerson and Isaac Garcia. The family would like to express a special thanks to Ivan Phillips and the Paradise Funeral Chapel staff for making this transition easier.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Powell Jr., mother, Patsy Powell, grandmother, Beozia Hines and aunt, Lottie Shelton.
