King David Hawkins

King David Hawkins departed this earthly life for his Heavenly home on Thursday, September 11, 2014. He was born February 12, 1943 in Lambert, Mississippi to King David and Mary Ella Hawkins.
King David was a family man who loved to spend time with his family especially his grandchildren. He had a special bond with his grand-daughter, Angel, who was his pride and joy. King David enjoyed watching westerns and fishing. His presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Tonia Marie Bernard of Saginaw, Michigan and Tammy Hawkins of Mississippi; two sons, Tyrone and King David Hawkins Jr. both of Mississippi; eight stepchildren, Leslie, Charles, Helen, Alonzo, Alfred, Ed, Toinette and Tara; several grandchildren including his very special grandson, David Isaac Cook of Saginaw, Michigan; one sister, Ethel Lee Huston of Vicksburg, Mississippi; many other relatives and friends including his special friends, Maxine Caver, Minnie and Maine Cooper.
King David was preceded in death by his parents, King David and Mary Ella Hawkins, two sisters, Effie Mae Moore and Elizabeth Walker, one brother, Clarence Hawkins, one grandson, Deleonce Williams, and his companion, Lemartis Matthews.
The family would like to express special thanks to the Commission on Aging and St. Mary's Medical Center Seton Cancer Center.
