Kinmost Shacks

July 21, 1947 — October 5, 2013

Our beloved husband, father, brother and uncle, Mr. Kinmost Shacks passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013 St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center. Age 66 years. He was born July 21, 1947 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Lee Sr. and Lillian Shacks.
Kinmost accepted Christ at an early age and loved serving the Lord. He was a firm believer that if you put God first everything else falls into place as God intended it to be. He was a faithful member of Jacobs Ladder Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Dempsey Allen. Kinmost was a disabled veteran who served 14 years in the United States Navy Reserve. He was a member of the Haley Brothers Chapter #117 of Disabled Veterans. Kinmost was employed at Saginaw Steering Gear retiring after 29 years of faithful service. He was also a member of UAW Local 699. Kinmost enjoyed basketball games, black history, politics and listening to the Al Sharpton Show. Kinmost loved traveling in his car as well as purchasing new ones and keeping them clean no matter what the weather conditions were. Most of all he loved his family. His presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Andrea Shacks; one daughter, Kenya Robinson of Carrollton, Texas; sisters, Leatrice Franklin of Los Angeles, California, Barbara Hollis of Lancaster, California, Jessie Shacks of Kenchelo, Michigan; mother-in-law, Yvonne Washington; sisters-in-law, Sybil (Demetrius) Stokes, Billie (Darrell) Sheffield, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Charise Washington of Savannah, Georgia; brothers-in-law, Kevin and Lloyd Washington, both of Saginaw, Michigan, James Washington of Adrian, Michigan; a very special aunt, Esther (Frank) Richard; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved and respected him dearly.
Kinmost was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Sr. and Lillian Shacks, four brothers, Don, Lee Jr., Willie and Ivory Shacks, one sister, Rosie Shacks.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Pastor Dempsey Allen and First Lady Francis Allen, the Jacobs Ladder Ministries family and the Haley Brothers Chapter #117 of Disabled Veterans.
