Lafarn Kelly passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at his residence. Age 65 years. He was born August 23, 1947 in Philadelphia, Mississippi to Homer and Hattie Mae (Lyon) Kelly.
Lafarn joined Mt. Ary Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Mississippi at an early age and was a graduate of Carver High School. After relocating to Saginaw, Michigan he was employed by Malleable Iron and later employed by Flint Truck and Bus in Flint, Michigan. His presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Ozella Kelly; one daughter, Rahea Kelly-Heard; two sons, Eric and Kunte Pearson; four stepchildren, Jenee, Ryehean and Jemein Jones, Kenya (John) Williams; twenty-one grandchildren; two sisters, Doris (Donovan) Jones, Gail Snipes; one brother, Odie L. Kelly; one niece, LaTasha Lawson; seven nephews; aunts, Claudine Carter, Beatrice Kelly, Lessie Lyon; one sister-in-law, Clarissa (Roy) White; many other relatives and friends including special friends, the Yates family, Bobby Shell, Lamont Brown, Frank Eichelberger and the mother of his sons, Jeanette Tinsley.
Lafarn was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Hattie Mae Kelly, grandparents, James and Lillie Lyon, John and Beatrice Kelly, one brother, Jelax Kelly, one brother-in-law, Johney Burgman, five aunts and five uncles.
The family would like to express special thanks to Hospice Services, Nurse Julia, Nurse Lawanda, Claudia at PMI and Ivan E. Phillips and the staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
