Lagusta Carol Bables was born February 10, 1948 in Saginaw, Michigan to Willie Lee and Rosemary Bables. She was raised and resided in Vassar, Michigan until she departed peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 23, 2018.
Lagusta, lovingly called “Aunt Gussie”, attended Vassar Public Schools before taking courses at Washtenaw Community College. She was a free-spirited woman that did not hesitate to tell it like it is, and if you didn't want to hear the truth, then don't ask her. She expressed herself in a way that once you met her and she liked you, then you were welcome to be a part of her life.
Aunt Gussie would entertain you with some of her good cooking. Not only would you taste the goodness of her food, you would feel the love that she had for her family and friends as you enjoyed her warm, soulful meal. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory sons, Kevin Scott (Brenda) Bables, Brian Keith (Jennifer) Bables; grandchildren, Ariel Kolb, Deveney Kolb, Evan Sheldon, Armonie Acklin, K’Lynn Bables, Jalyn (Alec) Blick-Glynn, Celeb Bables, Kaydence Bables, Jordon Germaine, Alexis Germaine; great-grandchildren Carson Oliver, Rose, Violet, Ava Kyong Aagasen; sisters, Sandra Junior, Margaret Bables, Pamelia Northern; brother, Frederick (Karen) Bables; former brothers-in-law, Anthony Trice, David Northern; sister-in-law, Patricia Bables; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; son, Darrell Bables; brother-in-law, Lewis Junior.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Dr. Robert Perry’s dental office, the team at St. Mary's Hospital, and the staff of Frankenmuth Medical Associates.
