Lamar Haynes, Sr.

November 29, 1959 — March 8, 2022

Mr. Lamar Haynes, aka “Uncle Buddy and Baldy,” our beloved son, brother, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 62 years, after a lengthy illness. He was born November 29, 1959, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Walter and Annie Haynes, the youngest of three children.

Lamar accepted Christ at an early age. He united with the New Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he was active in the Youth Department under the leadership of the late Pastor M.T. Thompson Sr. Lamar was a skilled carpenter, painter, and auto mechanic.

Lamar graduated from Saginaw High School, Class of 1978. He loved all types of music, and boy, could he sing! He always sang to his mother. Lamar enjoyed shopping which was evident as he was a snazzy dresser who loved wearing hats. In his leisure time, Lamar loved watching western movies and the Discovery Channel. He had a great appetite for delicious food, especially when cooked by his mother.

Uncle "Buddy/Baldy" leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Lamar, and Myron; parents, Walter and Annie Haynes; brother, James (Torsha) Haynes, Mesquite, Texas; cousin, Shedrick (Terry) Faulk; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; aunts, Velma Hall, Deloris (Tim) Huff, and Claudia Brenson; his adopted aunt, Dorothy Price Omar; uncles, Willie (Bobby) Haynes, L. J. Haynes, Fletcher (Linda) Hudson, Albert (Regina) Hudson, and Dennis (Diane) Hudson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; godsisters, Joslyn Ford, Carolyn Riley, Patricia McCulley and Johnnie Mae Jackson; best friends, Dennis Perry and Ricky Terrell; very special friends, Janice Staples, Rita Black, Kelvin Cook, and the Hammel Street neighborhood boys. Uncle "Buddy/Baldy,” will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family wishes to thank our relatives and friends for their kind expressions of concern and heartfelt sympathy during our bereavement. May God richly bless each of you.
