Lamarkas Vandell Boyd passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 32 years. He was born December 21, 1980 in Greenville, Mississippi to Larney and Brenda Johnson.
Lamarkas recently became a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Johnie Edwards. He enjoyed fishing and playing dominos. Lamarkas loved his family and always enjoyed spending time with them. His presence and sweet smile will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his fianc, Dorinda Garcia; two daughters, Markaiva Miller and Alaska Garcia; one son, Tamarion Fox; four stepchildren, Dontae, Erica and Pashun Garcia, Dannial Ruth; parents, Brenda Boyd Johnson and Larney Johnson, Saginaw, Michigan; grandmother, Teresa Johnson, Greenville, Mississippi; three sisters, Kimberly and Britteny Boyd, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Tasha Hemphill, Greenville, Mississippi; one brother, Larney L.L. Boyd, Saginaw, Michigan; two nieces, RaMya Rogan, Saginaw, Michigan, Latoya Hemphill, Greenville, Mississippi; three nephews, Treveon Rogan, Saginaw, Michigan, Quentin and Tremayne Hardy, Greenville, Mississippi; seven aunts, Mattie (Will) McCloud, Linda Johnson, Brenda (James) Porter and Jacquater Johnson, all of Greenville, Mississippi, Shirley Hemphill and Mary Lynn (Bobby) Priester, both of Florida, Deloris Bowdery, Saginaw, Michigan; six uncles, Charlie Hoskins, Robert (Beatrice) Brown and Ricky Brown, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Charles (JoAnn) Toliver and Herman Toliver, both of Greenville, Mississippi, Andrew (Lauretta) Johnson, Florida; several cousins from the Brown, Bowdery, Toliver, Hoskins, Rayford, Johnson and Hemphill families; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Robin Young, Derrick Forte, Cedrick L. Bates, Julius and Robert Brown Jr., Dennis Hoskins, Kenneth Toliver, Edgar Hoskins, Charles Toliver Jr., Demetris Hoskins, Shaquita Bowdery, Keith Miler, Keywan Toliver, Prentis Rayford and Wick Lawrence.
Lamarkas was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tella McCline, Pete Taylor and Larney Johnson Sr., one aunt, Shirley Toliver, cousins, Charlie Hoskins Jr., Charlie Hoskins III.
