Lance Lenell Landrum

May 12, 1951 — April 2, 2015

Mr. Lance Lennell Landrum transitioned from this earthly life on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the age of 63 years. He was born May 12, 1951 in Saginaw, Michigan to Ernest V. Landrum Jr. and Roberta Williams Landrum.
Lance was a 1969 graduate of Buena Vista High School. During high school he joined the marching band where he played all of the brass band instruments. Lance won many awards and received recognition for his marching abilities. After high school, Lance served his country with the United States Marine Corps. He received an honorable discharge. Lance was very good at reading and writing music. He enjoyed playing chess. His presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to celebrate his legacy one daughter, Linda Long (Jim Hamilton Jr.); four sons, Lance and Lewis Long, Lee Amos and Jimmy Johnson; his mother, Roberta Jackson; one brother, Ernest V. (Lynda) Landrum III Pookie three sisters, Cathy L. Steward, Rowchelle J. Yates and Brenda Landrum Surles; uncles, Clarence (Connie) Williams, Robert (Irene) Landrum and J.T. (Azalee) Landrum; aunts, Shirley Landrum Murry and Jeanetta Landrum Washington; his special friend, Colleen Long; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Lance was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Ernest V. Landrum Jr., one sister, Michelle Landrum, brothers, Alexander Van Jackson, Madison Jackson Jr., Vincent D. Landrum and Raymond U. Landrum.
The family wishes to express special thanks to everyone who offered kind words, prayers and condolences.
