Larry Don Irvin passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 at St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center. Age 63 years. He was born July 13, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan to Willie B. and Laurence M. Irvin.
Larry was a 1967 graduate of Carrollton High School. He was a faithful employee of General Motors Saginaw Steering Gear Foundry retiring in 1996 after 29 years of service. Larry joined Hazel Jackson in holy matrimony on July 10, 1990. She survives him. He enjoyed listening to music and working on cars. Larry loved spending time with friends and family. His presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife, Hazel Irvin; two daughters, Alicia (Rick) Carter, Ohio, Anise (Andrew) Ankrah, Wixom, Michigan; three sons, Larry (Charthy) Irvin, Washington State, Marlin Hughes, Saginaw, Michigan, Marcus Bates, Macomb County, Michigan; four stepchildren, Reginald (Lydia) Riley, Texas, Bridget Hinds (Sam) and Monique Burrell, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Shontell Bates, Southfield, Michigan; grandchildren, Donnelle and Chareeca, Washington State, Marlin J., Saginaw, Michigan, TaQuisha, Fred, Are, Ailyse, MarTerris Ity-bity and Angel, all of Ohio, Kennadi, Wixom, Michigan; one sister, Velma Templeton, Saginaw, Michigan; one brother, Willie (Frances) Irvin Sr., Saginaw, Michigan; one sister-in-law, Loistine Irvin; two aunts, Rushia Robinson and Ioda Morgan, both of Mississippi; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Robert (Lee) Drain, Andrew Johnson and Larry McBride.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Willie B. and Laurence Irvin, two brothers, Eddie and Reuben Irvin, three sisters, Glennie and Cornelous Irvin, Doris Webb, one niece, Tonia Irvin.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the physicians who cared for Larry, St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center staff, a very special thanks to his caring nurses, Angelina, David and Christina and to everyone who offered a kind word, condolence and prayers to our family during our time of bereavement.
