Mr. Larry Isom went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison. Age 58 years. He was born March 18, 1956 to L.C. Isom and Carol Ann Mitchell.
Larry was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He attended Saginaw Public Schools and was a Saginaw High School graduate, Class of 1974. Larry joined the United States Marine Corps. During that time, he played basketball for the Marine Corps and he also coached basketball, baseball and soccer. Larry loved all sports. He retired from the Marines in 1992. Larry attended Saginaw Valley State University where he worked as equipment manager and kicking coach for several years. He was a member of New Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he served as church secretary under leadership of Pastor R. E. Donald. Larry enjoyed helping people. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, JeTaun JP Isom; son, Denver (Karie) Isom; daughter, Kendra Isom; grandchildren, Messiah, DeAsia and Jaxon; parents, Carol Ann Mitchell-Jackson and L.C. Isom; three sisters, Veronica (Joe) Jordan Jr., Felicia Mitchell, Benita (James) Arnold; two brothers, Douglas Mitchell, Lawrence (Marilyn) Jones; many nieces and nephews including special niece and nephew, Nicole Mitchell and Devontay Mitchell; one aunt, Elisabeth Cruse; many uncles and cousins; two brothers-in-law, Cornell (Sheila) Tyler, Douglas (Marie) Barnes; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Charles McMillan, Galen Stone, Matt Peterson, Eric Graham, Randy Awrey and family and Ruth Wood.
The family would like to extend special thanks to his home care nurses (Liz and Patty) and numerous friends at Saginaw Valley State University.
