Mr. Larry Antonio Wood passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 56 years. He was born March 31, 1957 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to William and Elnora Wood.
Larry was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan who was a 1975 graduate of Buena Vista High School. He was a member of New Covenant Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Ron Frierson. Larry enjoyed fishing. He was indeed a true fisherman. He loved spending time with his family. Most of his time was spent with his beloved grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Larry was a strong-willed person who had a great heart. He always made sure his children were okay. Larry had an unbreakable bond with his children and grandchildren. His presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory the mother of his children, Kimberley C. Perkins; three daughters, KeiMia (Jermaine) Beavers, Chasatea Wood and LaQuanda Wells; two sons, Marchris (Artrina) Perkins and Antonio Perkins (Paula Hervert); sixteen grandchildren; his mother, Elnora Wood; three sisters, Diana (Willie) Bracey, Regina Wood, Vera Chachere; two brothers, Lonnie Wood and Kevin (Lesley) Wood; five nieces and six nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins; one special sister-in-law, Stefanie Wood; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Luchrista Gary, Kenny Haynes, Carolyn Chandler and Tom Lampley.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, William Wood and one nephew, Lonnie Wood Jr.
