Our beloved mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend, LaShonda Tadell Shivers earned her wings and entered the gates of Heaven on Thursday, March 7, 2019. Age 41 years. LaShonda was born on May 3, 1977 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Dorothy Shivers and Huedell McKinney.
LaShonda was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She was a 1995 graduate of Saginaw High School. While completing her high school education, LaShonda attended MJ Murphy Beauty School, where she studied Cosmetology. After obtaining her diploma, LaShonda began a career as a Team/Crew Member in the Food Industry and as a Sales Associate. LaShonda accepted the Lord into her life when she became a member of True Believers Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Sheila Washington. She was an active member and read the weekly program announcements. LaShonda was a very hard and dedicated worker who put forth her greatest efforts in whatever the task or job may be. She enjoyed cooking and had planned on attending culinary school in the near future. LaShonda loved to post pictures on Facebook, especially her selfies. Her beautiful smile and wonderful spirit will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
LaShonda's memory will be forever cherished by her loving daughter, Steve'Aniece Griffin; mother, Dorothy Shivers-Harmon; father, Huedell McKinney; grandmother, Jennie Mae Shivers; sisters, Salena Shivers of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Dr. Veneshia (Patrick) Whitson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Shanequa McKinney of Saginaw, Michigan; brothers, Huedell Shivers and Moty McKinney both of Saginaw, Michigan; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including her special friends whom were dear to her heart, Chantell Davis and Tanika Russell.
LaShonda was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Charlie Shivers; paternal grandparents, Moty and Lucille McKinney; niece, Shatoria Shivers; uncle, Willie McKinney, and aunt, Artia McKinney.
