Laura L. Hanserd

Laura Lee Hanserd was born March 25, 1958 in Altheimer, Arkansas, the daughter of James Sr. and Lara B. Boykins. God called her name to be home with Him on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at the age of 62 years.

Laura graduated from Saginaw High School, “Class of 1975”. She had numerous jobs but most of her employment was spent with Hausbeck Pickle Factory and Michigan Sugar Beet. She loved cooking, doing puzzles, playing cards, fishing and listening to her music. One of her favorite phrases was “You Junk Yard Dog! Get Outta Here!” Her love will be missed by those who knew her.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Hanserd; father, James Boykins, Sr.; stepfather, Mose Tyson; brother, James Boykins, Jr.; grandmother, Ethel Harris; aunt, Dora Agnew; uncles, Robert and Jessie Harris; cousin, Lois Agnew; father-in-law, Walter Brown; mother-in-law, Evelyn Hanserd; sister-in-law, Kimberly McAfee; brother-in-law, Greg Hanserd.

She leaves to cherish her memory seven children, Katrina M. Boykins, Michael D. (Shatoyya) Boykins, Marcus D., Evelyn E., Laurice M., Ashley E. and Mario D. Hanserd; mother, Laura Boykins; grandchildren, BreAoncia Bailey, Lamont Morrison, Demetrius Simmons Jr., Joseph McKnight, TreVeon McKnight, Keontae Stewart, Deon Turner, Mykaila Flowers, Jaquavian, ShaMichael, Mykeem, Michael Jr. and Deja Boykins, Devin Jr., Alexis Bardell, Amaria Burley and D’Angelo Brown; sisters, Charlene Brooks, Pauline Boykins; nieces, LaToschia T.
