Laurel Jackson

March 3, 1938 — September 15, 2014

Ms. Laurel "Lolly" Whelmania Jackson entered the kingdom of Heaven on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the age of 76 years. She was born March 3, 1938 in Romulus, Michigan to Etheleen G. Johnson and Aaron "Nick" Vann.
Laurel was a graduate of Saginaw High School. She was employed at Saginaw General Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 10 years. Laurel also worked at Taco Bell for a combined 15 years in Texas and Michigan. She was a member of Greater Coleman Temple World Outreach Campus under the leadership of Pastor H.J. Coleman. Laurel loved to travel, fish, play games and spend time with her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Valencia (Anthony) Morgan-Smith of Florida, Verna (Leslie) Morgan-Neal and Tracy (John) Morgan-Avery both of Michigan; two sons, James C. Morgan of Wisconsin and Mark (Anita) Morgan of Texas; mother, Etheleen G. Johnson; grandchildren, Leslie, Lasonda, Verna, Ralph Jr., Richard Jr., Angela, Laurel (Demetrius), Nikea, Reniece (Mark), Mark Jr., Deonte, Anthony and Angelica; great-grandchildren, Cory, Jazman, Jayda, Emmanuel, Londyn, Breanna, DeKetrick, Ja'Quarius, Linie III, DeAntwon, Monique, Travell, Dremond, Dazhnay, Alize, Zayonce, Teyah, Kamryn, Zora, Jayvin, Markavion, Major, Caleb, Devin, Daniel Jr., Dezire, Shanavire, Karrei, Kamarei, Demarei, Akea, AngelRose, Jeremiah, Nemiah, Anita, Anthony Jr., Casius, Johnny Jr., Tyrone, Tiara, Chrissy B., London and Lauren; six sisters, Johnny Mae (Norman) Price, Beverly Wilburn, Rosemary Vann, Janetta, Johnny Mae and Joyce; three brothers, Bertyl Vann, Robert (Marie) Vann and Michael Vann; two special nephews, Robert Vann Jr. and Michael Vann Jr.; special family friends, James Willis and Donnie Johnson; many other relatives and friends.
Laurel was preceded in death by her father, Aaron "Nick" Vann; stepfather, Vernon Johnson; grandparents, Addie and John Edwards; brothers, Aaron Vann Jr., Jessie and Vernon Johnson; one grandson, Daniel Morgan; one very special niece, Chrystell Hardy; two special friends, James "Satchel" Morgan and Lotus Perkins.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Hospice, Helping Hands, Verna, Mark, Tracy and Laurel. A special thanks to everyone who offered prayers, visits and condolences.
