Ledoris Watkins-Martin

Mrs. Ledoris Watkins-Martin passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Medilodge of Frankenmuth. Age 68 years. She was born on October 10, 1949 in Eupora, Mississippi to Fred and Geneva Embry.

Mrs. Watkins-Martin was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Mt. Carmel Baptist church under the leadership of Pastor Miles Franklin. Ledoris received an associate degree from Delta College. She was employed as a Teacher’s Aide at CAC Head Start, from which she retired. Ledoris enjoyed playing cards with her friends, traveling with her husband and spending time with family. She loved attending church when she was able. Ledoris was a very giving and caring person, and was very outspoken. She enjoyed learning new things, daily crossword puzzles, and challenging games like Scrabble. Ledoris will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves to cherish loving memories her husband, Jonathan Martin; one daughter, Cleo (Carlos) Wells, Ponchatula, Louisiana; one son, Anthony (Trinity) Martin, Reese, Michigan; five stepchildren, Vance (Tracey) Martin, Derryl (Monica) Martin and Eric Martin, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Jonathan (Fonda) Martin, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Audrey (Brian) James, Lake Mary, Florida; grandchildren include Antera Wells (Quentin Perry), Saginaw, Michigan, Khadejah Wells (Demontez Mosley, Sr.) Hammond, Louisiana, Antera Martin and Antysha Martin, Reese, Michigan, and many, many more; great-grandchildren include Merric Perry, Saginaw, Michigan, Demontez Mosley, Jr., Hammond, Louisiana, and others; one brother, James Embry, Saginaw, Michigan; one niece, Jamie Greenhill, Lorain Ohio; one great-niece, J’Mya Greenhill, Lorain, Ohio; two uncles, Wilbert Embry, Colorado Springs, Colorado, James Embry, Chicago, Illinois; many cousins; five sisters-in-law, Irene (Robert) Thomas, Geneva Embry, Julianna Williford, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Lorene Martin, Pine Bluff, Arkansas; two brothers-in-law, Johnny (Felecia) Martin, Saginaw, Michigan and Ronnie Martin, Little Rock, Arkansas ; many other relatives and friends; special friends, Cassandra Landrum, Emilia Williamson, Virgie Williams, Michelle Simpson, Betty “Hattie” Murray, Patricia Ladd, and Nola Levelston.

Ledoris was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Geneva Embry; brothers, Arnold and Wilson Embry; brothers-in-law, Ceabon Martin, Mose Martin, Jr. and Elijah Martin; sisters-in-law, Verba Martin, Emma Crosby and Millie Martin.
