Lee Carey

October 15, 1942 — December 1, 2020

On December 1, 2020, Mr. Lee Von Carey received his Heavenly wings. After being a prayer warrior and living a committed life to the Lord, Brother Lee answered his Father’s call for him to come to his eternal home.

Brother Lee was born October 15, 1942 in Lisman, Alabama to Frankie Lee and Mattie Mo Carey. At an early age, he dedicated his life to Jesus Christ. He received his formal education in the Lisman County Public Schools. On August 11, 1984 he was united in holy matrimony to his soulmate and best friend, Mrs. Veronica Carey.

Brother Lee was a faithful member of St. Luke Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Saginaw, Michigan. He served as a dedicated trustee and an usher. He was a committed member of the International F.&A.M. Mason & O.E.S. In 2005, he retired from General Motors Corporation after working 44 years. He enjoyed working outdoors in his yard, fishing, hunting, traveling, and spending time with his family. His presence will be immensely missed by all who knew and loved him.

The precious memories of Brother Lee will be cherished by his children, Milton (Eunice) Grice, Butler, Alabama and Yolandra “Ann” (Berbie) Jones of Moultrie, Georgia. His treasured memories will continue to remain with his siblings, Belated Thomas James “Uncle TJ ” (Marie) Portis, Lisman, Alabama, Rosa Coleman (late Robert), belated Mary Louise Carey, Emma Stokes, all of Chicago, Illinois; Bessie Gray, Lisman, Alabama, and William “Willie” (Pamela) Carey, Saginaw, Michigan. He loved his grandson, Milton Rice, Lisman, Alabama, granddaughter, Starritha Roberts, Columbia, South Carolina, goddaughter, Jilette Perkins and godson, Dalaino Tolbert. He will forever be remembered by a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, brothers, and church members from St. Luke Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

Mr. Lee Von Carey
