Mr. Lee Thomas Long went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2018, at McLaren Hospital in Lansing, MI. Age 76 years. He was born March 6, 1942 in Henderson, Tennessee and was the eldest son of Wayne Roy and Lee Exie Smith.
Lee (known to many as “Mack”) moved to Jackson, Michigan from Henderson, Tennessee when he was a young man. He later met and married Josephine Genia. Through the love they shared, they raised 7 children together with the help of his parents and a host of other relatives and friends. Mack loved all his family dearly. They were the most important thing in his life, as well as, his love for the Lord. He enjoyed showing off pictures of his family, reading the Bible and even watching church on TV. He also enjoyed talking on the phone to family and friends, as most of you know. Throughout his life, Mack had always been a hard worker to support his family and even owned and operated Lee Long Trucking for a period.
Mack leaves to cherish his memories nine daughters, Rachel Genia, Jaqueline Holmes, Rita Arnold, Tracey Lee Long, Latricia Bell, Marcelia Diane Long, Penny (Charles) Pointer, Laura (Alex) Long-Hall and Candi Long; 19 grandchildren, Frederick Neville, Damerian Holmes, Whitney Holmes, Cartina Baucom, Marshon Arnold, Kalaya Long, Anthony Bell, Aaron Bell, Darius (Nancy) Long, Sheneva Tyson, Chanel Long, KeAnne Sheffey, Jasmine Pointer, Brandon Pointer, Jason Pointer, Alexis (Alec) Albert, Christopher Hall, Myia Hall, Willie Britten, Jr., and Cheyanne Britten; 16 great grandchildren, Paryss, De’ja, Dominique, Darien, Adonis, Dominique, Jocelynn, Jakayla, Ian, J’Anne, Tanasia, Daylen, Jordan, Antares, A’Zrael, and Oliver; one brother, Antonio Williams; a special niece, Adrianne Jimenez and nephew, James Craig Faulkner; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Genia and special niece Damia (Percy) Hudson and nephew, Jamie Genia; and a host of other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Josephine Long; parents, Wayne Roy Smith and Lee Exie Smith; brother, James Dalton Long; and son, Carlton Baucom.
