Leeroy P. Davis of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 at his residence. Age 55 years. He was born May 20, 1956 in Saginaw, Michigan to Freemon Davis and Shirley Battle.
He was a member of Galilee Full Gospel Church. Mr. Davis was employed by General Motors Grey Iron Foundry and was a member of UAW Local 668. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1974. He was very playful with family, enjoyed playing cards and going to the library.
He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Markita Deshonda Davis; two step-children, Leroy and Detrick Shepherd; one grandchild, Alaza Alia Peoples; three sisters, Victoria, Shirley and Yolanda Gipson, all of Saginaw, Michigan; four brothers, Wilson Gipson Jr. Saginaw, Michigan, Lemar, Michael and John Gipson, all of Knoxville, Tennessee; six nieces, Lashanta Gipson, Sabrina Gipson, Diamond Battle and Mahogony Hudson, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Amber and Precious Gipson, Knoxville, Tennessee; eight nephews, Antowon, Tarell, Terry, Jess Gipson, Jerry Hudson and Anthony Battle Jr. all of Saginaw, Michigan, John Gipson Jr. and Lemar Gipson Jr. Knoxville, Tennessee; three sisters-in-law, Willie Battle Saginaw, Michigan, Francis and Dathine Gipson both of Knoxville, Tennessee; three brothers-in-law, Gregory Holmes, Jasper Myles and Clayton Cardwell all of Saginaw, Michigan; a special friend, Linda Ingram; many other relatives and friends including special friends Littshawn, Ameena, Thelma Curry and Shirley Pearson.
Leeroy was preceded in death by a daughter KeyKey Davis, his mother, Shirley Gipson; his father, Freemon Anthony Davis Sr., his step-father, Wilson Gipson Sr., his grandmother, Estella Battle, and a brother, Freemon Anthony David Jr.
