Legregory Williams (Lansing)

Mr. Legregory Williams passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022, at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 39 years. Legregory was born September 29, 1983, in Lansing, Michigan, to parents, Dianna Logan and Arthur Peterson.

Legregory lived in Lansing, Michigan, his entire life. He attended True Church of Apostolic Faith in his younger days with family. He went to Dwight Rich Middle School and J.W. Sexton High School, while there Legregory played football.

As a young man, Legregory and his cousins started writing rap songs, they also incorporated dance with their music. He loved rap and old school songs but mostly music in general. Music made Legregory feel good. Legregory loved sports; he enjoyed playing basketball and football with family & friends. He also enjoyed spending time fishing.

Being a dad to his daughter, Laveyha Williams, whom he adored and spent most of his time with and stepfather to Laviaha Woods are some of Legregory’s proudest accomplishments. He was a family man; loved family gatherings where everyone would cook, dance, sing and play games, like spades, chess and dominoes, and most of all, enjoy each other’s company. Legregory absolutely loved to barbecue.

Legregory held jobs as a carpet installer, factory worker and cook; by far, he enjoyed cooking as a craft the best.

Unfortunately, Legregory’s health started going downhill in 2019. He passed away peacefully in his sleep. Legregory will be missed beyond measure by his family and close friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Laveyha Williams; stepdaughter, Laviahya Woods; mother, Dianna Logan; father, Arthur Peterson; stepfather Deondre Allen; aunts; Geneva Peterson, Alice Peterson, and special aunt, Lakisha Williams; uncles, James Williams, Jr., Christopher Dominque “Loyalty” Williams and Timothy Dayton; many cousins, including favorite cousins, Deonte Williams-Sims, Kevin Grayson, Jr., Carl Morrison, Kayshawn Wray, Keshawn Wray, Kalep Wray, and Gwen Pryor; godfather, Robert Triplett; godmother, Loretta Hall; God sister, Tieara Hall; and many other relatives and friends.

Legregory was preceded in death by his stepfather, Lorenzo Logan; grandmothers, Shirley Simpson and Eula Peterson; granddad, Archie Peterson; great-grandmother, Gertrude Covington; and aunt, Jackie Peterson.
