Mr. Leo Bracey was born April 9, 1949 in Bishopville, South Carolina to Leola Hardin and Ben Pearson. He passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at his residence at the age of 69 years old.
Leo moved to Saginaw, Michigan from South Carolina at the age of nineteen. He worked at the Grey Iron Foundry for several years. He was a funny guy who loved joking and laughing. More importantly, he was a family man who enjoyed the company of his relatives.
He leaves to cherish his memory companion of twenty-seven years, Bertha Whitley; son, Calvin Spears, Saginaw, Michigan; daughter, Marie Dozier, South Carolina; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Marilyn) Bracey, Raleigh, North Carolina; nieces, Ella (David) Frazier, Daris Bracey, Sandra (Willie) Byrd, Mary (Henderson) Foster, Barbara (Alphonso) Gissendanner, Catrina Williams, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Courtney (Tremayne) Smith, North Carolina; nephews, LaVern, James, Jake, Willie Jr. (Diane) Bracey, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Jerry (Linda) Bracey, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Terry (April) Bracey, Jacksonville, Florida, Shervin (Roderica) Bracey, Lithonia, Georgia, Hillman Evans, IV, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Mary Bracey, Saginaw, Michigan; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Leola Hardin and Ben Pearson; stepfather, Jake Hardin; sisters, Lizzie Reames, Ada Cook; brothers, Willie, Samuel, Leroy, Levi, James, Isaiah Bracey, Kelly Anderson, and William Pearson.
