Mr. Leon Willis Beemon Chicken, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2009, age 70 years. He was born on July 24, 1939 in Saginaw, MI to Cullie and Gladys Beemon.
Leon retired from Vescios Supermarket after thirty years as a Produce Supervisor. He graduated from Saginaw High School and attended various Churches throughout the city. Leon enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, gardening, taking care of others and living and loving life. He was a funny, smart, caring, hard working man and was a pillar of his community and loved by everyone.
He leaves to cherish his memory, four daughters and eight sons, Vicky Beemon, Leon Beemon Jr., Louis Johnston, Aaron L. Sykes, Daryl D. White, Cassandra Chism, Curtis (Sandra) Beemon, Donovan D. (Pamela) Beemon, Clarence A. (Valeria) White, Terrance White, Stacey Beemon, and Trianna McKinley; thirty grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three sisters, Velma (Hezekiah) Thompson, Gladys (Kenneth) Fields and Shelia Bean all of Saginaw, MI; three brothers, Vollie, Michael and Lonnie Beemon all of Saginaw, MI; two uncles, Hayes Morrison of Vassar, MI and Harvey Morrison of Phoenix, AZ; one aunt, Opel Griffin of Phoenix, AZ and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Leon was predeceased by his parents; Cullie and Gladys Beemon; siblings, Robert, Cullie Jr., Hurley, and Ozell Beemon and Yzella Dancy; the mothers of his children, Pearly B. Beemon and Shelley M. Beemon.
