Leon Bell (Lansing)

Mr. Leon Anthony Bell was born on Friday, January 29, 1982, to the union of Ernest and Viola “Pearl” Bell in Gary, Indiana. The family moved to Lansing, Michigan in 1989, where Leon lived the remainder of his life. Mr. Bell transitioned on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the tender age of 42 years old.

Leon attended Eastern High School and was employed at Sidecar Slider Bar. Leon was a loyal servant to his family. He loved without conditions, cared without judgement, and he gave without hesitation. A lover of sports, Leon spent countless days and nights cheering for the Detroit Lions and Michigan State Spartans. Leon cared deeply for the people he loved with a pure heart and kind spirit. He will be missed beyond measure. A mighty limb has fallen from the tree.

Leon leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Ernest Bell; sisters, Latrice Bell, Latasha Bell, and Mary Bell; brothers, Ernest “Red” Bell, Rickey Bell, and Marcus Bell; nieces, Elaisha, Lexi, Tyana, Maliah and Viola; nephews, Ricky, Rickey Bell, Jr., Tyrik, Terry, Rolando, Isaiah, Eddie and Khamouri and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other relatives and friends, including special friends, Ray Nixon, Justin Ware, Dennis Martin. 

Leon was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Bell; maternal and paternal grandparents, R.D. and Mary Starks and Ernest and Shirley Bell; aunts, Judy, Sheila, and Brenda; uncles, Roosevelt, Luke, Ozell and Frank; and cousins, Eddie Starks, Paul Hammond, and Brian Scott.
