Ms. Leona Hicks passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 87 years. She was born June 22, 1930 to Willie Person and Pearl Spearman in Coffeeville, Mississippi.
Leona attended school in Mississippi. She worked for Toledo Public Schools as a reading aide, nursing assistant and she retired from Area Office on Aging as a secretary.
She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Patricia Jackson, Juliet (Robyn) Perry, Joyce Jones, Flowery Branch, Georgia; sons, Jerry (Iris) Hicks, Toledo, Ohio and Ricardo (Veronica) Hicks, West Bloomfield, Michigan; brother, Jesse Person; special niece, Diane Tangreti; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends including daughter/friend, Tracy Turner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Hicks; daughter Robin Fylnt Evans; son, Johnny Ray Hicks; grandsons, D’Angelo Hicks and Quinton Jones.
