Mrs. Leona Terrell was born March 8, 1936 in Prescott, Arkansas, the daughter of James Simpson and Katie Bozman. She was called home to be with her heavenly father on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the age of 84 years.
Leona, lovingly called “Kay”, attended Wilson High School in Malvern, Arkansas. After graduation, she attended nursing school in Alexandria, Arkansas and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for Dr. John Carter and later at Eaton Corporation for twenty-five years before retiring.
Kay was a faithful member of Rosehill Missionary Baptist Church, where she sung in the choir. She was an active member of Bright Star Chapter Eastern Star, Amaranth Blue Star Court, Lady of Knights, Daughters Sphinx and Royal Ladies for a number of years before her health failed. Kay was beautiful inside and out. She was a beloved wife, wonderful mother, adoring grandmother and loving sister and aunt. Her presence is already missed.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Terrell; daughter, Anita Terrell; four sisters and three brothers.
She leaves precious memories with four children, Sylvia Ann Mason (Al McKenzie), Jacqueline Juniel, Ricky Terrell, Michael Walker; grandchildren, Anthony (Beverly) Davis, Saginaw, Michigan, Eric (Dina) Davis, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Shantelle (Kyreem) Mason, Laditra Birmingham, Marquis, Myron, Aaron Francesca Terrell, Stefhan Wilson, Andre Smotherman, Anita Walker; sister, Hattie Reynolds, California; brother, Dean (Freddie) Simpson, Saginaw, Michigan; godchildren, Ursula Taylor, Charrell Whitley, John Perry, Elaine Bowen; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends Vivian Tarkington and Dorothy Bowman.
