Mr. Leonard Robinson also known as "Lent" passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 74 years. He was born June 19, 1944 to Mr. Allen and Mrs. Zona (Smith) Robinson in Irondale, Alabama. He was the seventh of eight children.
Lent relocated to Michigan at an early age. He graduated from Northwestern High School in Detroit, Michigan. He was employed by the Ford Motor Company for approximately three years, until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1967. He served in the Vietnam War. After his Tour of Duty was completed, he returned to the US in 1969 as a decorated soldier. Lent’s career included several manufacturing jobs in Michigan. In 1974, Lent moved to California, where he remained for twenty-five years. In California he worked for Beckman Coulter Incorporated in the shipping and receiving department. He once again relocated to Lansing, Michigan where he worked as a technician in heating and cooling.
Lent was a Christian man on his own terms, and would attend church wherever he was located. He lived his life to the fullest. Lent was a world traveler, and he did everything in life that he wanted to do. He was well loved by his family. To know him was to love him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his two sisters, Norgia Robinson of Jackson, Michigan, Carolyn (Frank) Murphy of Albion, Michigan; one brother, Michael Robinson-Legion of Acworth, Georgia; step-son, Gregory Kemp of Lansing, Michigan; four grandchildren, many other relatives and friends which includes nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son Little Vance, parents; three sisters, Eukalia Harris, Doris Owens, Billy Oliver; two brothers, Charlie Robinson, Howard Robinson.
