LeOra PolLe Davenport (Lansing)

LeOra "PolLe" Davenport's life came to a close on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the age of 80 years old. She was born on Thursday, October 7, 1943, in Oceola, Arkansas to Elnora and A.W. Norris. 

She relocated to Lansing, Michigan with her husband, Howard Davenport, Sr., where four children were born to this union. They later adopted two daughters.

As a founding member of Lansing Christian Center Church, she served as the church administrator for many years and led the Women of Vision ministry all while providing childcare for families in the community. LeOra was married to the senior pastor of Lansing Christian Center Church, Howard Davenport. Sr., and was instrumental in its establishment. She has diligently served in the administrative capacity of the ministry for several years. Her faith in God is deeply anchored and the Lord began to express a Psalmist anointing with new worship songs and inspired writings to reveal God's truth in a new dimension. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Priscilla, Howard Jr. (Susie), Kenny (Betty), Mark, Tamia, and Tamya; six grandchildren, T’Azsa “PJ”, Amari, Isaiah, Michael, Benjamin, and Kayla; great grandchild, Jada; two sisters, Rosetta (James “Smokey”) Ishmel and Loretta (Burrell) McGee; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives including the Lansing Christian Center Church Family, and friends, including lifelong friend, Mrs. Martha Tallison and special friend, Joyce Lacy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Davenport, Sr.; sisters, Willie Mae King and Rosie Lee Perteet; brothers, Arthur, Jimmy, Johnny, Henry, George, and Ricky Norris.
