Leroy Cannon, Jr. (Lansing)

Mr. Leroy Cannon, Jr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 25, 2019 at Sparrow Health Systems in Lansing, Michigan. Age 56 years. He was born May 31, 1962 in Hayti, Missouri to Mickie J. Johnson and Leroy Cannon, Sr.

Leroy’s family relocated to Lansing, Michigan in 1977 when he was just a teenager. He graduated from Lansing Sexton High School. He attended First United Methodist Church until his health began to fail. Leroy enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and watching sports, especially football and basketball. He loved to dress nicely and eating his Mom’s southern homemade cooking, especially her beans and cornbread.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, LeKendra; sons, Lerondrae and LeQuan; grandson, Nicholas; mother, Mickie J. Johnson; father, Leroy Cannon, Sr.; 3 sisters, Michelle Cannon, Angela (George) Baber and Shantae Cannon; 2 brothers, Frederick Cannon and Dansbly (Latifa) Cannon; 2 brothers in law, Jimmy Gorman, Barry Brooks; many nieces including special nieces, Torsheka Ford, Bradney Cannon and Kimmy Cannon; many nephews; 5 aunts, Sammie B. Hudson, Cora N. Stewart, Nellie Cannon, Dorothy (Arron) Leonard and Betty Suttle; 3 uncles, Sammy Cannon, Henry Lee Cannon and Robert Cannon; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Larry Smith, Michael Drake, Gregory Stafford and Bonnie Jones.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Joycelyn Humes-Gorman, Teresa Cannon Brooks.
