Lester Grimm passed away Monday, August 12, 2024, in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 79. He was born in Lansing on Tuesday, May 8,1945 to parents Harold and Delberta Grimm.
Lester was a veteran of the US Navy; he served his country from 1965 to 1968 as a diesel engine mechanic. He spent 42 years working at Oldsmobile, before retiring in 2006. In his retirement Lester was a volunteer with the Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T) and for 11 years he was an active member of his neighborhood Community Watch team.
Lester enjoyed woodworking, playing cards and chess, and spending time with his family, who remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His warm heart and appreciation for life's simple pleasures will be deeply missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory, spouse, Barbara Grimm; daughters, Deb (Anthony) McMahan and Leslie Rollins; Stepchildren, Genelle (Joseph) Vincent-Schwertner and David (Arlene) Vincent; grandchildren, Joseph (Anna) Carpenter, Ryan Rollins, Zachary McMahan, Antronelle Mitchell, Justin McMahan, Dechar McMahan, Caleb Isbell, and Jared Isbell; great grandchildren, brother, Kenneth Grimm; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by both parents; sister, Karen Grimm; and brothers, Gerry Grimm and Bruce Grimm.
