Lester (Lansing) Taylor

Lester Taylor passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 in Detroit, Michigan. Age 60 years. Lester entered this world on February 24, 1956 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Lindsey Taylor and Minnie Ethel Williams.
Lester graduated from Memphis South Side High in 1974 and relocated to Lansing, Michigan in 1978. He accepted the Lord at an early age. After moving to Lansing, he found a church home at Mt. Zion Hill Church under the leadership of Reverend Nathaniel Whitt until he moved to Detroit, Michigan. Lester also loved to visit Fearless Faith Ministries under Pastor Iris Cotton.
Lester worked many years in the construction field. He had many hobbies that he loved, including lifting weights, exercising and most of all, working on his cars! His most recent endeavor was a full time student to obtain an associate degree to become a phlebotomist at Wayne Community College.
Lester leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Margie Vanessa Taylor; 4 sons, Lester (Rhonda) Taylor, Andre (Marquetta) Benson, DeVonte Taylor and Rajai Taylor; 5 daughters, Katika (Arthur) Davis, Tarsha Longstreet, Latasha (Gerald) Taylor Bradley, Kizzy (Maurice) Taylor Robinson all of Memphis, Tennessee, and LesMonea Taylor of Lansing; 3 step daughters, Latoya (DeVante) Archer, Angel and Shermisha McClayton; sister, Faye Taylor, Memphis, Tennessee; 2 brothers, Lloyd and Lawrence Taylor, Memphis, Tennessee; 24 grand children, 1 great grandchild, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins including favorite cousin Harry, other relatives and friends including special friend Gene Sheets of Owosso, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Larry Taylor.
