Lillie Mae Harris

April 9, 1932 — April 22, 2024

Mrs. Lillie Mae Harris gained her heavenly wings on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the blessed age of 92 years. She was born April 9, 1932, in Altheimer, Arkansas, to Sarilla and Samuel Ruth.

Mrs. Harris was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She relocated to Saginaw in 1956; if anyone wanted to move here, they knew her door was always open. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Johnie Edwards. Lillie served faithfully on the Usher Board until her health failed. She enjoyed life, family, friends, cooking, and most of all she loved to dance. Lillie had a special and compassionate heart. She will be missed, remembered, and forever loved.

She leaves to cherish loving memories her children, Carl (Rosemary) Ruth, Ruth Kay (Gregory) Everett, Sr., and Dennis Harris; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Ruth; sisters, Jamie Ruth, Irene (Jim) Olithant, Rodell Craft; brother, Robert Ruth; grandchildren, Shadana, Robert, Lowana, Latosha (Deroen), Tiffany, Kareem, Gregory, Jr., Khalia, Dominique, Chris, Shana, and Dana; special great-grandchildren whom she raised as her own, Ronnie, Da’ron, Jau’ron (Myisha), and Gregriana; 29 more great and 8 great-great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mother Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, Sarilla and Samuel Ruth; husband, Jessie Harris; son, Calvin Ruth; two daughters, Ethlene Jones and Louwonia Harris; seven sisters, Gladys Wardell, Mae Francis Rogers, Iona Dorn, Bernice Ruth, Mary Lee Ruth, Samella Ruth and Josephine Wooden; four brothers, RB Ruth, Charles H. Ruth, James Ruth, and Charles W. Ruth; sister-in-law, Cloteal Ruth; and brother-in-law, Roger Craft.

The family would like to express special thanks to her niece, Linda Alexander, Great Lakes Pace, Bavarian Comfort Care, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
