Ms. Linda Louise Davis-McCarty was called from her earthly tabernacle to the everlasting home in Heaven on Thursday, March 25, 2021. Age 72 years. Linda was born January 7, 1949, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, to Estella and James Davis, Jr. She was the eldest daughter of 5 children.
She attended Alcorn University for 2 years, there she majored in English. Linda moved to Lansing, Michigan and became the mother of 3 children.
Linda accepted Christ at a young age and was a good and faithful servant. She was a powerful prayer warrior and served in several positions at Galilee Baptist Church, including secretary to Pastor Charles Tolbert, Church Clerk, and Prayer Intercessor.
She was employed at Auto Owners Insurance for 50 years. As a manager, Linda strived for excellence and encouraged her staff to be the best and do the best you can.
Linda was a great humanitarian, loved people and loved to give. She was an anointed Child of God. Her smile was contagious and would light up the room with laughter.
She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Sonya McCarty-Harvey and Yolanda McCarty of Lansing, Michigan; son, Michael (Rhea) McCarty of Lansing, Michigan; 6 grandchildren, Brandon Johnson, Rodney Brady, Shalay Harvey, Shadaira McCarty, Michael McCarty, Jr., and Re’Jere McCarty all of Lansing, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Jaevontae Johnson, Brielle Johnson, and Sarai Purnell; sister, Irene (Bennie) Stewart of Tampa, Florida; brother, Greg Davis of Tampa, Florida; niece, Tanika Stewart, 1 great-niece, Justice Davis of Tampa, Florida; 6 nephews, Timothy Stewart, Greg Granger, Kevin Davis, Bruce Lewis of Brookhaven, Mississippi; Brian Davis of Tampa, Florida; great-nephew, Brian ( BJ) Davis Jr. and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; special sister “friend”, Angie Hill; special nephew, Adam Hill; special niece, Deirdre (DD) Hill; prayer partners, Christine Hall and Evette Gant; close extended family daughter, Marsha George.
Linda is 1 of 5 siblings and leaves behind Irene Stewart (sister) and Greg Davis (brother).
