Linda Michelle Coley (Lansing)

Linda Michelle Coley (Manns) passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at her residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 57 years. She was born October 9, 1963, in Arcola, Mississippi, to parents, Ruby Coley and Johnny Bod Henry.

Linda lived in Dale, Florida where she was baptized at an early age. She moved to Lansing, Michigan in 1969. Linda attended Michigan Avenue Elementary School, Walter French Junior High School, and J. W. Sexton High School. She was a cook and cashier for many years at various businesses. Linda was incarcerated at one time, however, upon her release, she made Jesus Christ the head of her life. She became a member of Fearless Faith Church Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Iris Cotton. Linda was a member of the choir and assisted with various church ministries. She enjoyed playing spades and spending time with her family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory her life partner of 21 years, Gary Manns; 3 stepchildren, Mark Manns, Konen Manns, and Konema Manns; godchildren, Tonya Ellis, Edgrekia Blackmon, Shamiya Burtley, Wayne Coats Jr., Davion Brand, Dahcir Wallace, and Aiden Manns; 3 sisters, Deborah Coley of Detroit, Michigan, Patricia (Floyd) Coley Middleton and Joanne Coley both of Lansing, Michigan; brother, Larry (Sheila) Coley, Sr.; 2 uncles, Roosevelt (Cheryl) Wilson and Robert (Bobby) Wilson; sister-in-law, Sheila Manns; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including best friends, Patricia (Wayne) Coats, Sr. and Sheila Berkeley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Lee Coley and Johnny Bod Henry; grandparents, Irene Hardy, Henry Wilson, Sr.; sister, Brenda Louise Coley; brothers, Michael D. Coley, and Eric Henry; aunts, Mamie Nather, Mary Alice Wilson, and Gloria Wilson; uncles, Henry Wilson, Jr. and Joseph Wilson; and parents-in-law, Bill and Gertie Manns.
