Linton Stalling, Jr. (Lansing)

March 22, 1951 — February 29, 2024

Mr. Linton Stalling, Jr. passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Sparrow Health System, Sparrow Campus in Lansing, Michigan. Age 72 years. He was born Thursday, March 22, 1952, in Rome, Georgia to Mrs. Ruby M. Stalling and the Late Mr. Linton Stalling Sr. He accepted Christ and was baptized in the name of the Lord at an early age. Linton was a member Epicenter of Worship Church, under the leadership of Pastor Sean Holland. He was a faithful member who worked tirelessly until his illness. He was known for sharing profound words of wisdom that helped everyone he came in contact with.

Linton Stalling was a devoted General Motors Corporation Skilled Trade employee for over 30 years. After retirement from General Motors, he began his journey as a school bus driver. He was employed by Dean Transportation, Waverly Public Schools and Grand Ledge Public Schools. He absolutely loved being a school bus driver and was loved by all the students. He often left all the students with an unforgettable rhyme, jingle and riddle.

Linton was a family man who loved being a husband, father and papa. He was very active and loved taking care of the church. Linton served on the church security and transportation ministry and played the drums with joy. Linton loved bow hunting, barbecuing and playing chess. He especially enjoyed playing chess with his very dear friend who he loved and trusted like a son, Vernon Richards.

No matter how much pain he endured, Linton fought a good fight and finished his course and kept the faith. He was a courageous man who protected his family through love. He cared deeply for family and friends unconditionally and always wanted his family to stay strong together. Linton loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart as he would often quote Matthew 22:37, “ Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”
