Lois Jean Summerville (Lansing)

October 1, 1951 — February 10, 2025

Lansing

Our dear and beloved, mother, sister, grandmother, auntie and friend, Lois Jean Summerville departed from us on Monday, February 10, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan. She was born Monday, October 1, 1951, in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Clifford and Coressa Summerville.

Lois graduated from J. W. Sexton High School, attended Lansing Community College and was employed with the State of Michigan for more than 40 years. She was a Christian and delighted in serving the Lord. Lois loved spending time with her family. She treasured and adored spending time with her son, Jamone, grandson, Jameer, great granddaughters, Miyanni and Selena who affectionately called Lois, “Gigi”.

Lois was the second eldest of eight children in her family; and they all had a blissful and wonderful relationship. Lois had the mind and wit of an attorney. If something wasn't right, Lois was going to work at it, until it was right.

Lois leaves to cherish her memories, son Jamone; grandson, Jameer; great granddaughters, Miyanni and Selena; sisters, Evelyn, Brenda (Tony), and Jacquelyn; brothers, Michael and Reese; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends whom she adored and who respected her dearly.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford & Coressa Summerville, brothers, Joseph and Raymond, sister, Rose Marie Summerville-Oliver, nephews, Aaron Dungey, Jr., James Lauderdale, III, Robert Wray, Jr.; and niece, Starr T. Summerville. GOD bless the life and memories of Lois Jean Summerville.
