Lord Marcel Omar Beverly El

On the afternoon of April 30, 2020, after his life work was done, death cut the cord of Lord Marcel Omar Beverly El’s human boat to earth so that he may sail on smoother seas. Lord Marcel Beverly El was born on June 19, 1972 to Richard J. Hernandez of Sacramento California and Carroll A. Beverly, Saginaw, Michigan.

Lord Marcel was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan and attended Saginaw Public Schools. He was a devoted father, son, grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin and friend. He loved his family.

In his early teens he was the former leader of the Burt street gang before transforming his life into Lord Marcel O. Beverly El of the Moorish Science Temple of America, Inc., Temple #19, Flint, Michigan, under the leadership of Grand Sheik O’Brown El and the Grand Governor, Michael May El, Temple #23, Chicago, Illinois. He was a humble servant of Allah and a follower of the Holy and Divine Prophet Nehle Drew Ali.

Lord Marcel was a student at Delta College of Michigan, studying Business Administration. He was the founder and CEO of the non-profit organization, “Men Reaching out to Men”.

Lord Marcel was preceded in death by his daughter, Marquiesha; grandparents, Allen and Nancy Beverly; aunt, Betty Gutierrez; uncles, Eli and Joseph Prince, Juan (Lucy) Compos and Pastor Frank Gutierrez, Sr.

Lord Marcel is survived by five children, Temperance Russell, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Erin M. Washington, Saginaw Michigan, Marcel Beverly II, Saginaw, Michigan, Lord Marcello Beverly El III, Lord Marcellus Ra’ Beverly El IV, Lansing, Michigan; parents, Richard J. Hernandez and Carroll A. Beverly; seven grandchildren, Jada Taylor, Makhi Beverly, Jalilah Beverly, all of South Carolina, Marcel Beverly III, Jada Washington, Saginaw Michigan, Capier and Cyrus Russell, Grand Rapids, Michigan; brothers, Pastor Richard J. (Lanie) Beverly, Kebbi R. (Tesymon) Kelley, Ahmad J. Beverly, all of Saginaw, Michigan; four stepbrothers and sister, Vincent Torres, Victoria, Velinda, and Valentino O. Hernandez of Sacramento, California; uncles, Robert (Ethel) Shaheed, Harold Sr. (Amanda) Beverly, Herbert C. Beverly, Carlos Compos; aunts, Grace (Darwin) McDaniel, Flint, Michigan, Alice, Elvia, Lydia, Joyce, Carla; great-aunt, Corine (Bernard) Chavers, Tuscaloosa, Alabama; special cousins, Angelo and Sal Gutierrez; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special lifelong friend and mentor, Pastor Chet Atkins, his ride or die Mufti, Manuel Rodriguez and the mothers of his children, Lisa A. and Kiesha P.
